University of Makati Recognized Among Top Global Innovators at 2024 WURI Conference
Held at WURI Global Conference 2024 in Seoul, South Korea from September 23-26, the University of Makati (UMak) has earned a significant achievement by securing the 209th spot in the 2024 World University Rankings for Innovation (WURI). This recognition highlights UMak's dedication to innovation and excellence in higher education, standing out among 1,072 institutions globally.
UMak President Dr. Elyxzur C. Ramos, alongside university officials including Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Ederson D.T. Tapia, Vice President for Administration Atty. Jewel D. Bulos, Vice President for Student Services and Community Development Prof. Virgilio B. Tabbu, Asst. Prof. Stanley G. Rovira, Asst. Prof. Linber Allan C. Eugenio, Ms. Cynthia Margaretta R. Jose, Dr. Henry G. Magat, Dr. Jayson Bergania, Dr. Danilo C. Sabado, and Mr. Jonathan B. Canapi attended the event. WURI Founder, Dr. Dong-Sung Cho, presented the Plaque of Recognition in commemoration of UMak's impactful contributions to education, research, and community engagement.
The 2024 competition was particularly competitive, with WURI receiving 2,916 cases of innovation from universities worldwide. Institutions were evaluated based on innovativeness, implementability, and impact. This recognition not only underscores UMak’s dedication to forward-thinking educational strategies but also solidifies its reputation as a leader in academic innovation.
