Crew Management Enhancement Program to Open in January 2027

In May 2026, the University of Makati Educational Development Foundation, Inc. began initial discussions with Norwegian maritime experts, Mr. Carl Martin Faannessen and Capt. Jøran Nøstvik, co-founders of Noatun Maritime, to co-create and offer a Crew Management Enhancement Program designed to address critical gaps in the country’s maritime sector.

The proposed program aims to strengthen leadership, operational efficiency, and compliance capabilities among Filipino licensed manning agencies by drawing from globally recognized standards in maritime training and safety. The program covers two tracks: one for non-maritime graduates who intend to build a career in maritime operations and another for maritime graduates who aim to pursue a career in seafaring.
