The University of Makati (UMak) delegates attended the 5-Day Education Leaders Trip to Xiamen and Beijing hosted by the Confucius Institute at the University of the Philippines Diliman (CI-UPD) from September 23 to 27, 2024. Dr. Shi Xueqin, the Chinese Director of CI-UPD, and Dr. Lourdes Tanhueco-Nepomuceno, the Filipino Director of CI-UPD, guided the delegation for future student exchange programs between the university and the institute.

Representatives from the Center for Global and International Affairs, Ms. Camille C. Navarro, College of Tourism and Hospitality Management, and Assistant Professor Maria Therese G. Icalla shared their valuable insights on fostering partnerships for student collaboration and inclusivity with local and international scholars with CI-UPD.

Delegates were also accompanied to visit the library symbolizing academic collaboration and cultural diplomacy donated by Thai Princess and Honorary Professor at HQU, Maha Chakri Sirindhorn on providing the importance of Education emphasizing Chinese Literature and its culture.
