CCAPS presents at KAPA International Summer Conference 2024

The University of Makati participated in the 2024 Korean Public Administration Summer Conference and Annual Korean Association of Public Administration (KAPA) International Conference, which was held June 19 to 21 at the Yeosu Expo Convention Center in Jeollanam-do, Busan, South Korea, themed “Navigating Change: Equity, Leadership, Community and Robust Governance.”
College of Continuing, Advanced and Professional Studies (CCAPS) program chairs, Dr. Sonia F. Pimentel, speaker and author, and Dr. Rhene C. Tabajen, co-author, presented “Advancing Innovative Approaches for Disability Inclusion in Local Governance: Contributions to the Promotion of Social Equity” which aimed to examine local government policies and their role as catalysts for enhancing social equity for Persons with Disabilities (PWDs).
Attendees of the event shared knowledge and experiences about emerging global challenges, focusing on equity, inclusive leadership, participatory governance, and community resilience. This enabled participants to showcase innovative research, establish academic linkages and collaborations, enhance the visibility of CCAPS and faculty on a global platform, and represent UMak and contribute to international academic discourse.
