Benchmarking and Study Trip of UMak's Management Committee

To strengthen the universities initiatives on internationalization and fostering partnerships for student development, the University of Makati (UMak) conducted an Executive Benchmarking Collaboration meeting in Madrid and Barcelona, Spain from May 19 to 31, 2024.

The Management Committee (ManCom) visited the Philippine Embassy on May 20, 2024, detailing the purpose of their visit to the country to Ambassador Philippe Jones Lhuillier. The meeting provided opportunities for UMak as well as contributing to the goals of the Embassy in reigniting Spanish-Philippines relations and advancing the interests of Filipinos in Spain.

Additionally, UMak’s ManCom visited one of the globally ranked universities in Spain, IE University where they enumerated various partnership modalities that they can work on: faculty and student exchange, scholarship, sports program, joint degree program, and many more. UMak also discussed establishing partnership agreements with the Universidad Politecnica de Catalunya and Universidad de Barcelona, led by the Philippine Consulate General in Barcelona, Consul General Maria Theresa Lazaro. The said universities positively showed interest in collaborating with UMak, thus marking the first step towards the internationalization journey.
